PM1000 is a heat cured, clear (amber) phenolic coating which exhibits outstanding properties in the areas of:

  1. Corrosion Resistance
  2. Abrasion Resistance
  3. Chemical Resistance
  4. Versatility

PM1000 meets the requirements of the U.S. Federal Register, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) – Title 21 Food and Drugs, Chapter 1, Paragraph 175.300.
PM1000 is applied by spray coating the part, the typical coating thickness is 0.0005″, the range of thickness is .0003″ – .0008″.
The coating retards oxidation of the base material.  This coating is not meant to provide impact protection.
The recommended Maximum Operating Temperature of this high performance coating is 392°F (200°C).

PM1000 does not contain any plasticizers. Applications include tank linings, fans, blowers, filter plates, exhaust hoods, magnets, magnet assemblies, pole pieces, rotor assemblies and such.

Typical Functional Performance

Functional Group  Test Value
Pencil Hardness 3H
Taber Abrasion (CS-10 Wheel, 1 kg. Load, ASTM D-1044, D-51) 43 mg/1000 Cycles
Corrosion Resistance Salt Spray, ASTM B-117 (Steel Q-panels, zinc phosphate, .5 mil film thickness, nominal) 500+ Hours

The following is a guide showing references to the chemical resistance capabilities of PM1000. Please note that this is simply a guide and more testing would need to be done if you expect any contact between PM1000 and any of the below chemicals.

Chemical Resistance Guide Splash/Spill Immersion
Acids Good Fair
