Calculate flux density

Disc Magnet | Rectangular Magnet

To calculate the expected flux density of a magnet at a distance "x" from the surface on the centerline, select the material grade, enter the dimensions of the magnet and the distance "x" (airgap) in inches. Next, click on the"Calculate" button to get the value of Bx in Gauss.

Find material for given flux density

Disc Magnet | Rectangular Magnet

To find material grade for the expected flux density, magnet dimensions at the distance "x" (airgap), enter expected flux density (Bx) in Gauss, and dimensions of the magnet in inches. Next, click on the 'Calculate' button to get set of material grades that meet chosen criteria.

This programs are only an approximation that will only work for materials that exhibit a straight line BH Curve. To see the properties of the chosen material press on "Material Details" button.

This value can be physically measured by using a Gaussmeter and a Hall Effect Probe. It is a great way to inspect and validate a magnet.
