Torrance, CA - (BUSINESS WIRE SYSTEM) - Sept. 16,1998 - Magnetic Component Engineering, Inc., a California Corporation, locatedin the City of Torrance has received official notice from Perry JohnsonRegistrars, Inc. of an audit for ISO-9001 registration.
According to the notice, addressed to Ms. Linda Montgomerie, President andChief Executive Officer, the audit is scheduled for the week of December 14,1998. Audit is expected to take approximately one full week. Thisincludes on site and external audit.
Ms. Montgomerie stated that she is pleased to see that the Company is makingprogress towards receiving certification. She stated that once the audithas been completed, Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc., would forward the resultsto both the RAB and RVA. Pending their official approval, the Companywill receive the ISO-9001 certification.
Mr. Nanji, the General Manager, when questioned about the work involved inpreparing the Company for the audit said "…and without the commitment ofthe employees, we would not even try to embark on such a project".When asked if it was "customer pressure" that motivated the Companyon pursuing the registration, Mr. Nanji stated, "No, the decision to pursue ISO-9000, specifically ISO-9001, has been an internal decision. It was the management core that decided to move in this direction in preparation for the turn of the century."
Mr. Beeler, the National Sales Manager for the Company said that he voted forthis change because "...it was our only option to remain on the cuttingedge. It is a standard, it is internationally accepted, and it will be anasset for not only our customers, but for us, our people, and the Company if itintends to continue being a leader in its field."
