Torrance, CA — (BUSINESS WIRE SYSTEM) 12/16/2005 — Magnetic Component Engineering, Inc., a California Corporation, located in the City of Torrance, has announced that it has successfully implemented and was independently audited to the aerospace standard SAE AS9100:2004B Quality Standard.
Ms. Linda Montgomerie, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Magnetic Component Engineering said that she is very pleased with the organization's Quality Management System (QMS), and now being certified to the SAE AS9100:2004B standard we give further assurances to our Aerospace and Defense customers that we are committed to providing them the best.
Mr. Brian Beeler, the National Sales Manager, said that he was confident that MCE had a rock solid QMS, however, "...now our customers are assured about our Quality Systems because it has been independently reviewed by a certified registrar". Mr. Chris Nanji, the General Manager, said "we must realize that certification is only a snapshot providing the customer with the basis for trusting our Quality. The real test is what we do everyday, every order, every shipment, consistently achieving continuous improvement and customer satisfaction". He also stated that "this was a team effort, everyone had to buy-in, and everyone had to pitch in".
The Standard AS9100 includes ASQ9001:2000 quality system requirements and specifies additional requirements for the quality system of the aerospace industry. The issuing committee of this standard is the G-14 Americas Aerospace Quality Group (AAQG). The standard was written by the 9100 writing team, and at their March 2004 meeting in Paris agreed that no further changes shall be made to this standard until April 2008 which is the time the next revision to the ISO9001 standard is due. Gene Baker, Chair of the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) said that "this allows the supply chain to concentrate on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of their quality management systems without having to make revisions to address changes within the requirements".
