MCE upgrades it's website.

Torrance, CA -- (BUSINESS WIRE SYSTEM) — January 19, 2002 -- Magnetic Component Engineering, Inc., a California Corporation, located in the City of Torrance has announced that it has released it’s new improved faster website.

The new interface website has been developed to accomplish faster loading and lighter running (not using any plug-ins). The interface is user friendly so that the site can be used effectively for data. This version further eliminates the distractions with vivid colors, pictures and pop-ups that typically appear in today’s sites. Again, the emphasis is on allowing the visitor information quickly and effectively. The key points involved in designing this new site were fast access, minimum distractions, and a respect for the user’s time. The site was written in Microsoft’s ASP (Application Service Provider). Data is fed from the Microsoft SQL server.Hosting is done internally through a T1 connection.

The design involved using a consistent look and feel from the first page (home page). The previous website was constructed using frames, and navigation was accomplished using JavaScript. This has been changed, thereby eliminating the need for java plug-ins. The site navigation is now done using html codes, thereby eliminating any conflicts for users that have java plug-ins turned off. This allows users in large organizations that block java for security reasons to be able to use the site without errors. Additionally, important information such as the telephone number and address appears on every page, making it easy for the customer to contact the company.

Mr. Chris Nanji, the General Manager, said “Our objective is to keep it plain and simple for the user. We do not expect our users to have to learn how to use our site; they came to our site for information, not to go to school on using custom websites.Additionally, we want to continue to show our users that we respect their time, we understand that they need information quickly and easily without distractions.”

The president, Ms. Montgomerie, stated “as usual, I am proud of the new development in our web technology and our IT Dept. that is continuously keeping their fingers on the customer’s pulse. The feedback from our customers was taken into consideration, and they made the right decisions to give the customer value, not an art show!”

Mr. Brian Beeler, the National Sales Manager, said, “it may look simple, but that is our objective. When the user is on our site, they are interested in information quickly. Our new site achieves this in no uncertain terms. The feedback that I have received indicates that we are being judged on the content and value of the information, not on the sites beauty.”

Mr. Jon Simpson, the Western States Regional Sales Manager said, “removing all the distracting jargon, and implementing the simple approach is the way of the future. We have seen adequate beauty on the Internet and we know that there is a lot of artistic talent out there. But for an organization such as ours, that is interested in giving the customer information quickly, artistic talent is not what counts, but rather relevant data on demand is what matters!”

Magnetic Component Engineering, a manufacturer of permanent magnets, RF Magnetics and magnetic assemblies, has been a mark of quality and speed in the industry. Lead times for production and prototypes are generally half of what the industry has been quoting. Magnetic Component Engineering set a standard for high-speed accurate manufacturing in 1992. It has since become the vendor of choice for the aerospace, defense, computer, motor and medical industries.
