Torrance, CA -- (BUSINESS WIRE SYSTEM) — April 20,
2001 -- Magnetic Component Engineering, Inc., a California Corporation, located
in the City of Torrance has announced that it has added a secure section to it’s
website.
The new secure section has been complied to allow customer access to information
that normally is considered controlled and possibly proprietary.
The secure site area requires the customer
to have a user name and password. MCE’s
domain server controls security where the validation and authentication takes
place. The Sales Manager distributes
the user name and password; however, the Information Technology Engineer is responsible
for maintaining the required security level.
Documents in the secure site range from MCE’s Quality Policy
Manual (QPM-001 latest revision) to Material Safety Data Sheets and Technical
Data Sheets on MCE products and products that MCE typically uses to manufacture
magnetic assemblies. Other documents also
include technical notes.
Ms. Linda Montgomerie, the president of MCE commented, "…This is simply
fantastic. It gives our customers the
ability to get what they need fast." The National Sales
Manager of MCE, Mr. Brian Beeler said "…This will not only be useful for
our customers, but also for our sales force. Now they have access to the same resources we use at the

All functions of the basic site are still available as
before, including the Knowledge Base. Access
to the secure site is achieved by clicking on the “Log On” option on the
Navigation Bar. Items in the Secure
Site have been excluded from the search engine for security reasons.
Additionally, documents in the secure site
are stored in the portable document format (PDF) rather than HTML so that it is
easy for a customer to download or save on their own hard drive for later
reference.
