2001 - Magnetic Component Engineering, Inc., a California Corporation, located
in the City of Torrance has announced that it has teamed up with Atomz to
provide a powerful search engine to its website.
The new website is content based, with pictures removed to promote fast
loading.The interface is user friendly
so that the site can be used effectively for data.It has been designed to eliminate the distractions of vivid
colors, pictures and pop-ups that typically appear in today’s sites.
The emphasis is on allowing the visitor
information quickly and effectively.Adding
a powerful search engine to the site allows the user to hone into the correct
information fast.From material grades
to words used in the website, by indexing the whole website the information is
now on everyone’s fingertips!
The search engine input box appears below the navigation bar
and is accessible from every page.To
make it easier, once the search engine is activated, an additional search box
opens up on the top of the content page to make it very convenient.
The conventions used are industry standards
adopted from the DOS days.The asterisk
(*) can be used before and/or after a string of letters serving the function of
a wild card. The inverted commas (“sting
written here”) can be utilized to make an exact match to a string of
words.The search engine uses the “intelligent
search” system where words that have prefixes and suffixes such as “…ing” or “…s”
are all matched.For example the word “test”
will match all occurrences of this word even if it appears as “tests”, “testing”
or “tested”.
