K1271 is a high performance, non-reactive, thermal, and electrical insulating material that has has been formulated with ceramic binders and high purity Aluminum Oxide based ceramics.  K1271 is an exceptional filler material in magnet assemblies that will be used at elevated temperatures.

Because of it's insulating properties, it eliminates issues related to eddy currents in motor applications.  K1271 is also resistant to oxidizing and reducing environments, chemicals, and solvents.

K1271 does not contain any plasticisers, and therefore does not outgass, making it ideal for applications in vacuum and high vacuum.  Its TML and CVCM values are well within NASA's guidelines of <1.0% and <0.1%, respectively.
